Did a beautiful hike last month in Rose Valley. Starting with a short hike to Rose Valley Falls, and then continuing over to Lion Canyon via Rose-Lion Connector Trail to visit the cascades past West and East Fork Lion Camps. Amazing water everywhere. Clear, abundant, magical, and restorative.

Did a hike up through Rattlesnake Canyon to Mission Falls today, ended up hiking back out in the rain.

Did a short hike to Tequepis Falls last month, should still be plenty of water in the falls, and of course can almost always find Banana Slugs there.

Did a fun hike last month along N. Cold Spring Trail and visited Gidney Falls and the two cascades below it. Was just out there weekend before last on the way to Big Caliente Hot Springs and there's still water in Gidney Falls!

Did several beautiful hikes along the Midland Trails in February and March. So great to see the wildflowers just starting, then getting going, and now, based on the posts and reports I've been seeing, in full swing. Now is the time to head out there to experience some of the gifts of nature.

I'll be giving a free talk next week at the Santa Barbara Public Library on the San Rafael Wilderness, which will include several multi-day backpacking trips I've done in the past two years.

Went over to First Crossing yesterday just to see if the river was crossable, and it was! So then I thought I'd go for a short wander on the other side, but ended up doing an off trail hike to an ephemeral waterfall that until yesterday I'd never seen actually flowing. Just amazing to see so much water flowing through the mountains. Cool to see the peonies already happening.

Made a trip out to Jameson Lake and Blue Canyon back in December as part of a trail camera project. The project is aimed at tracking wildlife recovery in the Zaca Burn area, and in particular Mountain Lion recovery. Didn't have a lot of time for sightseeing, but it was cool to see water in Jameson and Blue Canyon.
